10/15/2015 · My mother is the monster mother -in- law – law , and point by point it’s exactly what my wife is experiencing. She, like you, has a great mom who is a great mother -in- law to me. I feel bad that my wife doesn’t get the same experience but I’ve accepted there’s nothing I can do other than support my wife and help her keep distance.

For some people with this kind of problem they can have some other mental health issue (or think they do) and get in with a good therapist who can identify the NPD and sneak in treatment for it on the sly.
