Your laptop/PC will send another beacon out with the correct SSID and ask to reconnect to the router, which is now on Channel 4. Meanwhile, your Zwift session is no longer receiving data, so the rider list empties out and the field of riders around you disappears, until your laptop/PC reconnects to the router, now on Channel 4.
12/29/2020 · Hi, Simlar issues with me since the last few weeks. Today on a relatively new (3 months) PC / Laptop and an android tablet. Free riding and following routes the other riders randomly disappear and re-appear, but in Team Time Trials I’m dropped out the back, lose the draft and the team is somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds ahead.
2/9/2021 · My Zwift log did not record a 2-second disconnect, but was able to detect and save in the log file every disconnect that lasted 4 seconds or longer. Every time the network was interrupted for more than 6 seconds, all other riders would disappear by the end of the 6th second. A 4-second interruption had no visible impact on Zwift.
12/10/2020 · If I were just riding around in Zwift it would not bother me. But, I do quite a bit of racing and when riders disappear and you don’t know if you are with them still or not – usually not – that usually ends the race for me as I will get dropped. My last race it did not happen. Good sized field (50+ racing). So not consistent as I noted before.

1/26/2018 · FWIW, Zwift reckons Ive an issue with my ping speed , even though the internet is over 20mpbs via the wifi, and Ive had no problems with overall internet drops (which would cause the other riders to disappear ).
